EXALTO NOTARY PROTOCOL · RECORDING
Every prompt and reply, captured on your machine as it happens, then reveal exactly the lines you choose. Anyone can verify.
VERIFICATION TOOLS FOR YOUR AI INTERACTIONS
PROOF OF THOUGHT · THE FIRST APP ON TOP OF THE EXALTO NOTARY PROTOCOL
A text editor that knows which words came from the model and which came from you: every exchange sealed as it happened, every contribution tracked locally.
Answering the timing objection
The detector said a machine wrote this. The ledger says something more precise: a first draft arrived at 11:42, then forty minutes of my own revisions; a counter-argument I asked for, CONTRIBUTION HISTORY · ¶1 11:42 · model draft · 34 words 12:22 · you rewrote 21 of them ✓12:24 · revision sealed view full trace →
The strongest objection is timing: certification proves the exchange happened, not the intent behind it. I answer it with process: six weeks of it, sealed as it ran
EXALTO NOTARY PROTOCOL (ENP) · OPEN SOURCE
For the first time, you can prove a conversation with an AI happened exactly as you say it did, and prove it to anyone, forever. Not a screenshot. Not an export. Real proof.

The session already happens. Everything in blue is what the protocol adds: the witness in its path, the receipt, the portable, verified trace.
A VERIFICATION BREAKTHROUGH
Anyone can type a transcript, edit one, screenshot one. That's why “here's what the AI said” does not count.
The insight: your session already runs over an encrypted, authenticated connection to the AI provider. The protocol relays that session through an independent notary that witnesses exactly what crossed the wire without ever being able to read it. Old cryptography, pointed at a new problem.
PROVENANCE
It came from that AI provider.
INTEGRITY
It hasn't been changed.
TIME
It existed by that moment.
Nothing readable ever leaves your machine. Nobody, including us, sees your work.
The cryptography is TLSNotary, open source. More in the spec.
APPLICATIONS
Anything built on sealed traces inherits their proof. Proof of Thought is the first app. The rest is for you to build.

WRITING
A writing app that keeps an authorship ledger: verified model output, your tracked contributions, imports. Prove your delta.

AUTHORS & STUDENTS
A detector says AI. Weeks of sealed drafts and revisions say otherwise, and anyone can check.

DEVELOPERS
Your agents write code all day. When a commit ships a bug, faces an audit, or lands in diligence, the sealed session behind it is the proof you need. Works with Codex and Claude Code today.

DOMAIN EXPERTS: LAW, FINANCE & ACCOUNTING
Clients ask how AI touched the work. Attach the sealed trace as the exhibit.

SECURITY TEAMS
When an agent misbehaves, self-kept logs can be altered. Sealed-as-it-happened records cannot.

ENTERPRISES
Authenticated AI records for when litigation, audits, or regulators come asking.

RESEARCHERS
Post the trace with the paper. The model really said it, and screenshot disputes are over.

CANDIDATES & EMPLOYERS
The assignment says AI is allowed, within limits. A sealed trace shows exactly how you used it, and the hiring panel can check.

DEVELOPERS
Sealed traces are a new primitive. The spec, the OpenTelemetry trace format, and the verifier are open.
build on the Exalto Notary Protocol →START CAPTURING YOUR TRACES
Exalto Capture is a dashcam for your AI work. Start it, point Claude Code, Codex, or your own tools at it, and every session is recorded on your machine, witnessed by the notary you select at setup. When you need proof, seal the trace and hand it to anyone.
Until that day, it's just a folder on your computer that nobody, including the notary, can read.
